Firefox – who doesn’t love it and what makes this browser so lovable are its plugins. Amazingly awesome tools for all kind of users there… If you have no clue of what Firefox is then, “Hello, Happy Birthday! Welcome to the world of Internet…you were born for us just today”, and if you are aware but still stuck in prehistoric browsers like IE6 or even worse NETSCAPE…move on buddy!! Now more about firefox in future posts.. This post is to tell you about something different..
As I said Firefox has amazing plugins and everyone (ignoring exceptions) knows about it, but the point not everyone utilizes them to the utmost levels. There are different plugins for different purposes for all kinds of people…yes, ALL! they are not meant for only geeks. But the problem one faces is one is not aware of the plugins they would need…! Though I know this sounds a little crazy but its true… Now how do you expect me to know that a plugin can be useful to me without knowing it even exists. ![]()
Coming back to the topic, I introduce all of you to Taaadaaa!!! Firefox Add-on Collections. Its been there for quite sometime but as always who was aware of it!
Collections are groups of related add-ons assembled for easy sharing.
Simple eh? Well to simplify it further, in collections you will finds related plugins put together as a set making it easy to share, stay updated if a new related firefox add-on is released, get all the plugins that you will need/suits your need in one place. I still remember being hooked to blogs and trying out plugin-after-plugin to find out if it really fits my bill. Also, one natural conclusion that one can draw is only the best of plugins are added.
Well, the answer to this one is simple, U and many others like you are the ones who create add-on collections. So you can see how useful this could be. I will give you a scenario…
You love firefox and have been using it for quite sometime. You have your own likeable set of firefox plugins installed, a result of various checks, tests and recommendations. Now, your system crashed and you need to reinstall everything, or you change your workplace/workstation. Now are you supposed to remember and install all those plugins you were so much used to?? Instead why not assemble them and create a collection of your favs. You have to just head to whereever you want to work, goto your collections and install all without testing your memory power!
Thats not all, others may find your collections helpful and similar to what they need and may subscribe. You can also subscribe to collections by logging into the website and get updated when a new plugin is added to it. Very handy, huh….
Now without wasting any further time and keeping it straight, following are 10 very diverse collections of firefox add-ons. Hope you find the ones you need:
1. FastFox – Who wouldn’t like their firefox to be smaller, lighter and faster. A collection of 20 plugins that make that possible.
