Just Like That

Do you run an Ad-free Blog?

The irony of this blog post is that ewebbuddy.com is not an ad-free blog but still since I am always up to spread awareness about great things, this blog is being posted.

Blogging to many is still a very personal thing. People write their thoughts, views, ideas and share with the world via blog posts. I have come across so many bloggers via Indiblogger.in who are passionate about blogging and they do it only for the love of it. If you are one of those, read on…

Though there are many professional bloggers todaAdd an Imagey and those who earn quite a lot of money from blogs like problogger, blogging is still used primarily as a non-profit medium of spread ideas, thoughts and what not. Many bloggers do not like to add advertisements to their sites or getting paid to promote something. They share their experiences because they want to and not because they are told to.  Among such people are Kerismith and Jeff Pitcher. These two individuals have started a movement to mark blogs that do not post any sort of ads as ‘Ad-free Blog‘. By simply adding a small image on your site you can tell your users that your blog is ad-free and they will definitely appreciate it. Many users do not like to be shown advertisements on blogs even if it is a small text-based ad. Tell such users that you believe in what they believe as well and earn their love.

Someone has rightly said – “Small things go a long way!” – who knows this small addition takes you somewhere great. Also you deserve to feel proud if your blog does not advertise.

How to add the icon?

Well you need be a person ready to agree to the following:

By using this icon on my website I am stating…

1. That I am opposed to the use of corporate advertising on blogs.

2. That I feel the use of corporate advertising on blogs devalues the medium.

3. That I do not accept money in return for advertising space on my blog.
