How to check status of your Aadhaar Card?

About a month back I went through my Aadhaar registration process at a one of the many Aadhaar centers in Bangalore. The process was pretty smooth and I was told to expect my card to reach my permanent residence address in about 2-3 months. Now in the meantime, if I would like to check the status of my application, all I would need is my enrollment ID (EID)

What is EID?

EID stands for enrollment ID and you can  find out your by locating the following details from your acknowledgement receipt.

The top of your acknowledgement slip contains 14 digit enrolment number and the 14 digit date and time of enrolment. These 28 digits together form your temporary EID.

How to check your Aadhaar card status?

Once you have your EID, simply click on this link and fill in the required details. Your application status will be available to you.

In case you have still not initiated your registration process, would encourage you to do so:

- Details of how to register for Aadhaar and what are the required documents

- Where to register for Aadhaar in Bangalore (it does not matter if your permanent address is not of Banagalore)

- Online appointment for Aadhaar Card

I believe there are centres in BTM and Jayanagar that you can opt for. Recently there has been some changes which I am not yet aware of. Reach out to Bangalore One centres as well.

I have wasted so much time waiting in the queue to get apppointment and then waited in the queue at Fraser Town P.O after having got the token for the day. I was rejected as the no of of enrollments for the day had exceeded the limit that is after spending 3 hours for getting token and 2 hours waiting for my turn for the enrollment.

I am sorry to say my experience has been very disappointing. Many bpeople like me have had the same type of experience. High time the no of counters are increased

    • Piyush Agarwal says:

That would have been a really frustrating experience and I understand your anguish. But keeping in mind the sheer number of people who need to be registered, this issue can be expected. However, I do agree that UIDAI should not just increase the number of registration counters but also add more online appointment facilities with separate counters. So that people can plan their visits well, manage time better and not fall victim of the issue you face.
