UIDAI has started taking advantage of the digital world and has started reaching out the all the people enrolled via emails. I wanted to share this post as I realized how easy it is for any email from UIDAI to be considered as junk and worse case they ending up in your SPAM folder since the email is not in safe senders list. The fun does not end there! Even if the mail somehow is considered SPAM, it can land up in your Promotional or Social tab and get completely missed.
To ensure you do get all communication from UIDAI and do not miss out any important announcements. Please make sure that you have added ‘[email protected]’ to your address book. Also incase these emails are landing up in other tabs instead of Primary Inbox tab, simply drag and drop the mail to the preferred tab. Make sure you click on the link ‘always do this’ when it pops up post this action.
Here is a sample email that I received earlier this week regarding the process of updating your details:

If you have moved to a new address; or, your child has recently turned 5 years (or 15 years) of age; or, your email ID or phone number has changed from the one mentioned in your Aadhaar; or, you wish to add your mobile number and/ or email ID – then you should “Update” the information in the Aadhaar database. Online Self-Service Portal (for updating demographic information) If your mobile is registered in Aadhaar, you can visit the https://resident.uidai.net.in, and follow the instructions for updating address (or change of name following marriage etc.). B. By Post Send an Aadhaar Data Update/ Correction form by Post. You can download the form at http://uidai.gov.in/images/ application_form_11102012.pdf. A list of documents to be attached is available at https://resident.uidai.net.in/ update-data.
